About us.
The AAF clan is an organisation of people who play Arma in a tactical, yet enjoyable way. The ultimate goal of the AAF clan is to provide a mature and fun environment for realistic tactical combat simulation. AAF has been existent with the Australian ArmA community for many years, with it's roots extending back to 2001 with the release of Operation Flashpoint. When in game and conducting a mission, or training, AAF switches on and plays tactically and enjoyably. However, out of game, AAF provides a fun and friendly environment to enjoy each others company.
AAF has over thirty members on the books, with many recruits applying constantly. AAF, although can appear to be quite big, has a small feel about it. Everyone knows each other, and all members enjoy each others company. It's like one big happy ArmA family. :)
AAF Servers.
AAF run 24/7, two dedicated ArmA 2 servers. One is a locked 16 player server for all our general gameplay, from fun missions, such as Insurgency, to tactical missions made by members of the clan. The second is a 64 player Multi-Session-Operation server which is shared with our friends over at AEF.
AAF also operate their own TeamSpeak 3 server. If you ever want to jump in for a chat, the IP is; 203.38.250.193
How we play.
AAF uses a variety of mods including ACE and ACRE to enhance the game play experience. Servers are run and maintained by clan members. AAF run their missions using fireteams and leadership is passed around so everyone can have a go. We try to have as many organised and tactical games as possible, but more often than not, a game is run almost every night.
AAF plays tactically when required, however, we also aim to have fun. If you are looking for a clan where you have to salute your superiors, attend training for numerous hours, practice endless hours on navigation and radio communication, then AAF is not for you. However, if you are looking for a fun, yet tactical group of guys who love playing ArmA, and when we want to, play tactically and get the mission done, but when we aren't, we have fun, then AAF is the place to be :)
